Ace Conquers the New River!

Here's my puppy Ace posing for a photo opportunity on a large rock outcropping in the middle of the New River.  We drove up to the New River in Mouth of Wilson, VA two weeks ago to celebrate the early arrival of spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains. 

In true Golden Retriever fashion, he jumped out of the car and waded right out to the middle of the river to "retrieve" two live ducks.  Once he got to the middle of the river, he changed his mind. 

Think about it:  Here's an 11 month old puppy standing in the middle of a 320 MILLION year old river.  The oldest river in North America, and the second oldest on the planet.

The Big Boss

Look how big this sweet boy is getting!  In this photo, he has jumped on to the chair at my desk to remind me that we need less work and more play time!   I love this dog. 

 

Does it Get Any Cuter?

This is my little baby boy Ace getting ready for bed.  He's got a blanket on him with a picture of my former Golden Retriever named Luke. 

This was taken over Christmas 2010, and I think little Ace was just worn out.  He had climbed up on the couch to take a nap and looked so cute, I thought he needed to be tucked in.  I covered him in the blanket of Luke, and snapped this picture. 

And he was quite content to let me.

This was Ace's first Christmas.  I hope it's the first of many many more. 

6 Months and Growing Fast!

Remember the Cute little Puppy in the Dog Bed?

This is him, at nearly 6 months. and that's the dog bed under him.  He's got a lot of energy, and he sometimes gets a little too playful, ... but he's a loving little puppy.  What a blessing Ace is.

BEWARE!

Beware!  This is going to be one Big Dog!  Look at those paws and those shoulders. 

At a little over 3 months old, he's getting his golden color and his fur is beginning to feather out on the sides. 

This is going to be a beautiful animal.  And what a sweetie!

Cool Dude!

Ace enjoys cool temperatures.  He's going to do great here in the winter, and will love playing in the snow.

He's discovered that the bottom shelf of our refrigerator is a good place to "chill out".  We're learning to always look down before closing the refrigerator door, since a little puppy may be sitting in there!

What a blessing this little guy is!
